I Take My Fun Very Seriously!

I take my fun very seriously! Anyone who knows me, knows that I love my fun. I’m happy to be the first person up on a dancefloor, can be found in the archives of several TV game shows and when I was at school you just know that I’m the ‘chatterbox’ who often got told off for laughing with my friends and passing notes!

In short – fun is one of my essentials in life – after the mortgage is paid and the kids fed – all that ‘proper’ grown up stuff!

If you enjoy your fun, you’re going to love what I’ve got in store for you, as for the next year, I’ll be bringing you the latest information from Carnival Cruise Lines leading up to the launch of their newest ship Vista, culminating in us taking a holiday onboard Vista along with four other bloggers and their families! When I’m onboard, I’ll report back on the various activities and the ship’s facilities to help you imagine what a cruise holiday will be like and how you might plan to take your family on a Carnival Cruise holiday.

In 2016 Vista begins its maiden season in the Mediterranean, making it the perfect time for UK families who’ve always wondered about cruising to give it a go, as it will be so easy to join this cruise ship! No ten hour flights with young kids before you embark – in 2016 you will be able to hop on a cheap flight to Barcelona or Athens before immersing yourself in Vista and all she has to offer. You can finally discover what a cruise holiday is all about and believe me, if you love your fun you won’t find a more fun ‘party ready’ crowd than on a cruise ship!

I’ve been on four cruises in the past and therefore I’m speaking from experience when I say that cruise dudes know how to party! There’s a feeling of all being in it together on a ship in a way that you don’t get with land based holidays. Of course you might get your sour pusses on a ship too – they don’t force you to take a happy test when booking, but in life you’ll find these anywhere and they are seriously out-numbered on a cruise ship. Most of us are ‘on our holidays’ and just want a terrific time!

I’m really looking forward to being able to tell you what the ambiance onboard Vista is like, but last month I got a taste of the fun I could expect when Carnival brought me to London to meet the other bloggers and the Carnival PR team!

I arrived at Carnival’s PR office, M&C Saatchi PR for my individual meeting so they could get to know me a bit better and I could ask any questions about the company and about the holiday. I’ve already started planning what I want to blog about on JuggleMum, but of course I want to answer your burning questions too so if there is anything at all you want to know about Carnival, the Vista or cruising in general, do let me know in the comments and I’ll find a way to answer you in a future post.

But if I can confirm one thing right now, it’s that everything about Carnival is fun. My trip to London with them was fun, they took us for a meal out in Covent Garden which was fun and even the pack of information I was sent in advance of the meeting came with a side order of fun! Have a look at at Tweet I sent out just after it had been delivered…

The lovely Norman who delivered the package got chatting and told me how he gets dressed up as Gemma on an evening. He showed me pictures of him and his girlfriend painting the town red and bless him, he made a great looking woman!

Here is a group shot of the Carnival bloggers who attended the meal (Kara, Chelsea Mamma was missing unfortunately!)

I got to meet foodie seeker Kirsty who I hit it off with – we have a similar sense of humour. I also enjoyed the chance to deepen my friendship with chill seeker Sonia who I’d only met once before.

Fun seeker Laura was the blogger I knew best of the bunch and unfortunately I missed the chance to see lovely Kara who is Carnival’s thrill seeker as she couldn’t make it. For the record, I am Carnival’s sun seeker! I just love that title!! With all of us funseeking family bloggers in this together for the next year, there will be plenty of opportunity for more laughs and giggles and making up random hashtags when we get together again! #WhatHappensatCarnivalStaysatCarnival!

If you’re excited to see what’s currently going on behind the scenes in the ship builder’s yard as Vista is coming to life, you can watch Carnival’s YouTube video on the creation of this ship.

Plus if I’ve got you thinking about going on Vista next year, you can check out some itineraries and prices here. For cheap flights, SkyScanner is a great source of information, but once you have some flight prices to hand and know roughly the cost of airfare, an insider’s tip is to call Carnival who have just launched a new Fly2Fun Air Programme and their telephone operators will help you find the best prices possible on airfares to your destination. Carnival’s UK number is 0843 374 2272.

  • I am sure you will have a lot of fun in the sun. I really do not like the sound of a cruise, but then I suffer terribly from sea sickness!

    • Oh dear! Yes, I have seen people experiencing sea sickness on a cruise before but it has been when crossing the Bay of Biscay which is notorious for being an area that sees some of the Atlantic’s fiercest weather. Usually the sea is very calm and the ship stable enough to handle any surges!
