Ideas for the school holidays hero shot

In our house we love holidays and family travel (don’t we all?!) But we also enjoy spending time at home in the UK. Summer is approaching fast – it’s just over one week until my kids break up from school for six whole weeks of fun, and no matter what kind of holiday you have planned; abroad, staycation or activities at home, Matalan has you covered.

They have summer clothing (like my new maxi dress pictured above) for fashionable days out, luggage for far flung destinations or picnic items and games for little adventures at home so there’s no reason to be bored this summer!

I recently wrote a blog post for Matalan’s website to share my tips on having the best UK holiday ever. Have a look and let me know if you have any tips to add. What do you like to do in the summer holidays?

Maybe you have something fabulous planned or your approach is to go with the flow, but whatever you decide, here are a few blog posts to give you a few ideas for your summer 2016 vacation!

If you are staying at home this summer, here’s how to create a festival in your own back garden!
On a rainy day you may like to consider bowling as a fun family activity!
For a cheeky week away in Europe, here are my best tips for an easy half term.
If you are booking a holiday with a baby, here’s what to consider.
A fab meal to enjoy on lazy holiday nights is my famous jerk chicken nachos! I hope you enjoy this recipe – it is seriously addictive!
…and finally to save up some money to get your next holiday booked, or for cheap entertainment suggestions for the school holidays, check out my post on 30 ways to save money!

What kind of activities do you have planned this summer? Are your children looking forward to the school holidays? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you to Matalan for sending me the dress pictured.
