5 podcasts for entrepreneurial women

5 podcasts for entrepreneurial women hero shot

A theme of recent weeks has been the spoken word.

Even though they’ve been around for years, I’ve recently gotten into podcasts in a big way – I’ve downloaded several to my iPad, my current favourite being ‘Happier’ with Gretchen Rubin.

Listening to a 30 minute podcast on a morning is a nice way to start the day. I used to watch breakfast telly but I don’t find the output very uplifting plus I am not in one place whilst getting ready. I move around the house so this way I take my podcast with me!

I’ve also been on the radio a couple of times. BBC Radio Leeds invited me onto a weekend show to discuss blogging and tips on social media. Here I am with presenter Gayle Lofthouse in the studio!

Then a couple of months later I was talking ‘To do lists’ with Nick Ahad!

I love going on the radio. Back in 2006* I actually won a radio presenter competition at BBC Radio Leeds and presented a Christmas Day show for the station! But when I’m actively listening and not talking, the top 5 podcasts I’m enjoying at the moment are great for entrepreneurial women as they are uplifting, educational and full of business tips and success stories.

1. Happier – Gretchen Rubin
2. Glambition – Ali Brown
3. Unsettle – Advice from successful entrepreneurs
4. Hello Freedom – Terri Cole
5. The Fearless Launching Show – Anne Samoilov

Do you listen to podcasts? Which are your favourites? Let me know so I can check them out and also head over to my Facebook page and ‘LIKE’ for more from JuggleMum!

*Here is the BBC’s press release on my win. I wanted to include it as it said I won with 37% of the vote and that’s a nice fact to remember after all these years!

  • How fabulous to be on the radio twice. I’ve never been one for podcasts but I know my husband downloads them to listen on the team.

  • I like podcasts too. I tend to listen to Ted Talks, which I find really inspiring, but going to check out the ones you suggested too. I think listening to a podcast is a great way to spend a commute.

  • I have to admit that I am terrible for knowing how to download and listen to music, never mind podcasts. The only one I listen to is the Podding Shed and thats only because hubby downloads it and listens in the car (its a Chelsea one)

  • I’ve never got into podcasts – I think partly because I don’t listen to music on my phone so I’m not geared up for listening in.

  • I don’t think I have ever listened to a podcast, I’m more visual so they just don’t interest me.
