The Primula blogger club threw out a challenge this month. Pair Primula cheese with something you wouldn’t expect. We all know that cheese goes with crackers, but what else can it go with?
I had a think and came up with a dish that is vegetarian, works as a light lunch, a snack or even a starter for a fancy dinner date type night in.
It’s poached pear, Primula and walnut and it tastes great! (Do you like what I did there? Primula paired – using pear? No? Oh well! Maybe I should stick to just blogging and not try to be a comedian!)
Here’s how you make it.

What an inventive recipe. I would have never considered using primula!
Oh wow would never have thought to put that combination together!
What a fabulous sounding paring. I’ve yet to try poaching pairs but I think they would go lovely with Primula and walnuts.
It looks lovely but I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to try it!
Wow you certainly are inventive. I’d have never thought to put the two together.
haha I got the idea from a meal out I had and adapted from there! It worked too – my hubby loved it!!
I would never have thought to have combined Primula with pear! What an interesting combo x
I used to love Primula when I was little, I’ve never had it since then as I love real cheese too much lol – this sounds great, i love pears x
yummy! i love pears!
I absolutely love poached pears (with a lot of melted chocolate!). That’s the sort of dessert my mum would make at weekends when I was growing up. I love your unusual combo! x
Thank you! I like your mum’s recipe idea too!!
Oooh how inventive – you’ve made me all hungry now too!
Ooh this sounds rather lovely Nadine, I wouldn’t think to pair these two together either. Did you see what I did there LOL 🙂
I did see!! x
Never thought of trying cheese with pears, shall give this a go
