We’ve had the plumbers in at home as we’re doing some remodelling and the act of them sorting out the shower leakage made me giggle this week as the two latest products I received in the post have also been related to leakage!
Fulton Umbrellas are the Queen’s favourite umbrella maker and they hold a Royal Warrant. They have been making brollies for 60 years and if they are good enough for HRH, they are good enough for me! I was keen to give one a try as I needed a new umbrella for the coming autumn and winter when I’m on the school run!
I chose this beautiful Lulu Guinness Birdcage – the Birdcage design refers to the wide dome of the umbrella that is designed to completely cover your head and shoulders (and as it is see-through you can safely do this and watch where you are going!) but the print on my brolly is also a birdcage – a quaint antique style birdcage complete with a chirpy bird! Here it is in a studio so you can totally see the design…
This September started off nice and sunny so I waited for a few weeks until a suitable day to give my new umbrella an outing came but this happened on Friday when it rained in Yorkshire! Here I am with the umbrella which got loads of compliments from my friends!
I love the quirky design of this umbrella, helping me to be a fashionable mum even when I’m dripping wet! It has a patented mechanism for safe, smooth open and close action and has both flexibility and strength for high winds. The Lulu Guinness Birdcage costs £32 from Fulton Umbrellas.
My other leakage product is a pair of Diary Doll pants! This company sells pants for post maternity, periods and pelvic floor lady leakage – let’s just say for women who need to cross their legs when they sneeze!
The co-founders Carol Smillie and Annabel Croft are both lovely women that I’ve met before – really down to earth and practical. You’d have to be, to have come up with this idea which is one of those ‘why has no-one ever done this before’ kind of things.
When I interviewed Annabel Croft at The Davis Cup back in March, she told me how tricky it is for young women who play sports – particularly tennis with its uniform of white, at certain times of the month. Now that Diary Doll exists, this isn’t a worry for today’s young sporting women or indeed any woman, as the pants contain a secret waterproof panel to protect against any embarrassing leaks and give you confidence.
Diary Doll pants are £14.95 from https://diarydoll.com and you can get the grey marl ones pictured here.
So that’s my immediate leaks sorted! I’ll share the results of my bedroom ensuite remodel in a future blog post!
Thank you to Fulton Umbrellas and Diary Doll for the products.
I always opt for a transparent umbrella so I can pull it over my head and still see where I’m walking – I love this one x
They are so handy, aren’t they?
What a beautiful umbrella! I could be converted to umbrellas with one like that.
Fab umbrella, cute detail with the little bird on it x
I want a rainbow umbrella! I am missing the sunshine already, I hope we do not have too much of a wet autumn and winter!
Me too, but at least I feel that I can be fashionably wet if necessary!
Oooh I LOVE that umbrella – mine’s an ugly green one so I have umbrella envy right now x
It’s so cool, isn’t it?!
What a beautiful umbrella! Love the idea behind those pants x
