Street Style Mums: Becky Mann, Lucre PR
Becky, 32, is a Senior Account Director at Lucre PR with a classic sense of style. She is a busy fiance and mum to a 20 month old daughter, Imogen. Here’s what she had to say!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I don’t think I’ve ever been described as stylish. I just keep to simple, classic lines and wear a colour palette that suits me.
Q: Have you always dressed this way?
A: Yes, even before I had my daughter. The biggest hurdle I had to overcome when I was a mum were the logistics of clothing whilst breastfeeding. Clothes have to have easy access! I became much more practical with my choices and slightly lower maintenance.
Q: How important do you think it is to have style when you’re a mum?
A: It’s important to feel confident. Going back to work after maternity leave was daunting, especially as the women I work with are so glamorous. I dress to feel confident and the best way to do that, for me, was to also feel comfortable.
Q: If you have limited time, what are the essentials you do before leaving the house?
A: I always wear mascara and wash my hair! I’m a massive ‘shampoo girl’. As long as your hair is clean, you can do what you want with it and I don’t feel as if I’ve woken up properly unless I’ve washed my hair.
Q: Do you think you ‘lose yourself’ when you have kids and if so, how do you stop that happening?
A: I think that’s a hard question. It’s easy not to put yourself first at any point, however I’d like to think that I’ve always been ‘me’ and I always will be ‘me’. I think it’s essential to set aside time for yourself to indulge in whatever you want to do. For example, recently I went on a neon sign making workshop with my other half, just for fun! The time to focus on doing something creative helped me to play harder as a mum when I got home too!
Q: What are you wearing today? Where is it from?
A: I recently lost half my outfits in a flood, so I’m slowly getting a capsule wardrobe back together. Today my clothes are a mix of Mango, Zara and a necklace from Etsy.

OMW what a nightmare to lose your clothing to a flood. I also agree on being creative helps on keeping your own identity
Yes, creativity does help I think.
Sorry to hear about the flood. It must be really difficult to replace a lot of clothes at once, as we tend to build them up over time.
I know- Becky is so upbeat about losing the clothes, saying they can be replaced and it’s family that matters. I admire her outlook.
Boo, sorry to hear about the flood Becky – that’s rubbish! Great feature Nadine!
So sorry to hear about the flood but you look lovely in what you’re wearing 😉
It must be really hard to have to start from scratch again x
It’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it. And you wear it very nicely. Sorry to hear about the flood.
That’s a nice comment – thanks Helen!
Oh gosh, sorry about the flood 🙁 I always wear mascara too – even if no other make up! Lovely post with n interesting lady! Kaz x
Thanks Kaz
