If you ever wanted to be a rock star when you were growing up, then this summer you may want to check out Camp Bestival 2017! Each year the festi-holiday sets a theme for the weekend and it’s fun to see the imaginative dressing up that goes into it from festival dwellers. The 2017 theme is now announced – It’s Pop Stars and Rock Stars!
This is great news – it means I can easily get the kids a suitable outfit that they can also wear for their daily clothes afterwards – thankfully ripped jeans and T shirts with the band’s name on them are always cool, and for me – well maybe I will go a little ‘Alice Cooper’ this year – or perhaps hubby and I can paint our faces like KISS!
This year sees the festival’s tenth event, as always curated by Rob and Josie da Bank. It takes place from 27th – 30th July 2017 at Lulworth Castle, Dorset and we can’t wait! The Friday night headliner is Mark Ronson and there are also sets by Holly Johnson and the coolest 90s girl band, All Saints. The Saturday night headliner that has just been announced is Madness! The event will also host the UK festival exclusive of School of Rock, the musical which we are very excited about as we couldn’t get to London to see it in the West End.
Every time we go I love the crazy excesses of music, theatre, family shows, fairground attractions, outdoor activities, poets, authors, comics and amazing food. There really is something for everyone at Camp Bestival, and we enjoy exploring what’s new in the familiar layout that we have come to love. Knowing roughly what to expect makes it easier with the kids so they can find their way around – we never let the youngest out of our sight but our teenager lives to go off with a friend and explore the festival for herself.
Tickets for this year’s event are on sale now and you can do a weekly payment plan to help spread the cost if you buy early. For details visit the website or call Ticketline on 0844 888 4410. See the website for Ts & Cs.
More big festival news is coming soon, so check www.campbestival.net and the Facebook and Twitter feeds for all the latest.
I hope to see you there!
Have you ever been to Camp Bestival before – what did you enjoy the most? Let me know in the comments!
Oh Mark Ronson – So cool. I have seen Madness a couple of times and they always put on a great show
Both my teenager and hubby and I are looking forward to Mark Ronson! The teen doesn’t know who Madness are but we all agree on Mark Ronson!!!
I love Madness and so does my sister – i will be taking her with me. As for dressing up i am going to order a load of sew on badges to add to a denim jacket!!
This always looks such an amazing festival but it clashes with another holiday we have each year sadly. Mich x
Tempted by the idea of Mark Ronson and Madness (my son would love to see Madness).
Wow! Madness and Mark Ronson, what an amazing line up! One day I will face my fears and go camping, this would be great – plus the payment plan shoes that it really is geared for families…
I cannot wait for this year, we have out outfits planned already 🙂
