Readers of a certain age will be thinking of an adorable wrinkly sisterhood right now. The Golden Girls were a massive TV show of the 1980’s – a kind of Sex & the City for seventy year olds if you will! But me being a golden girl is more about the golden things in my life. I have a bit of a glittery thing going on at the moment so let me share it with you!
First, I was finally convinced by my teenager to try Snapchat! I can be found as Nadine | jugglemum. I’m not sure how I will use it or if I will maintain it alongside my other social platforms, but I do love the effects that Snapchat has built in, especially this ‘golden goddess’ type effect! I also created an image that looked like me on Halloween so I will save that one for a scarier post than this! In case you are not familiar with this platform, last year I created a parents guide to the social networks your kids are using which outlines the main ones and Snapchat is on that.
I never waste a good location and recently I was having a meeting for business at Hazlewood Castle, a beautiful hotel, spa and wedding venue in Yorkshire. I seized the chance to wear my new Wolky high tops – in gold, obvs! I wanted to do a mini fashion shoot at the castle and get some fab shots!
I am wearing the Wolky Biker in gold from new-to-the-UK label Wolkyshop! This Dutch brand is a household name in Holland where they have 11 shops, they also have 1 in Germany and they just came to the UK last month when they opened up their first UK store in Brighton. Wolkyshop specialises in high-quality comfortable shoes in a range of fashionable styles and colours and in their stores they only sell their own ranges. They work closely with their manufacturer to ensure that each handmade, high quality leather shoe fits the customer’s requirements and their aim is to produce stylish and comfortable kicks.
Wolky means ‘cloud’ in Dutch, something which the shoes’ creators have drawn on – making the wearer feel like they are walking on a cloud. The boots have removable, anatomically shaped footbeds which mould to the feet with an extra layer of memory foam, and they did feel very comfortable, although I was advised by Wolky to choose the next size up from what I would normally buy as this style comes in a bit small.
I’ve teamed the gold boots with my black leggings from Victoria’s Secret; black vest from NEXT and leopard cardigan from H&M. I’m carrying a gold clutch from Accessorize.
The shot above is of a £300,000 gold bullion bar and I actually picked it up in the Bank of England Museum. I am sharing that information in an upcoming post but isn’t it funny how gold is a running theme at the moment?!
Lastly my newest pot of gold comes in the form of a new iPhone case from US brand Loopy Cases! This startup company is already making waves across the USA with their new #StopTheDrop social campaign and now they are headed to our shores! Check out this new case they sent me – ahead of their product launch so I am truly honoured to be the ONLY PERSON outside of their R&D team to have a Loopy Gold Signature Edition case! They warn me that the cases don’t look like much to look at, but I will be able to see the genius for myself after I have used it for a week. I can already see the value of being able to use my iPhone one handed, with one finger scrolling an more control of the device through using this case, I’ll bring you more information on a future post – stay tuned!
So that’s me, feeling golden at the moment. Have you got any new fashion finds that are making you smile? Let me know in the comments and also head over to my Facebook page and ‘LIKE’ for more from JuggleMum!
Disclosure: Thank you to Wolkyshop for sending me the Gold Biker to review. For more information about the brand visit wolkyshop.co.uk or visit their new Brighton store at 37 Bond Street, Brighton, BR1 1RD.
