Part of the fun of a blogging conference is choosing what to wear. Every year I use it as an excuse to treat myself to a new dress or top but this year I have been spoiled as British womenswear brand Celuu selected me and 4 other bloggers to wear one of their outfits at this year’s BlogOnMSI!
This brand sells contemporary women’s clothing in sizes 12-22 and is aimed at the 35+ market. Celuu are a Manchester based company that retails online, in independent shops and also in John Lewis stores UK wide. Their pieces are beautifully designed and easy to wear – they take inspiration from trends and turn them into relaxed styles that are comfortable to wear and luxurious to touch. I love it when I find a brand like this – stylish but not ‘wacky’. Classic but not boring. Comfortable whilst still shapely and with a few key pieces that are totally me!!
I chose this outfit for a funky but tailored look…
The individual pieces are a grey boucle biker jacket (on sale £69!!), Olivia jersey treggings (on sale, £19!) and a Rachel jersey camisole (£19), both in charcoal.
I was impressed with the way the pieces arrived earlier this week, doesn’t this package look intriguing?
Blog On is organised by Laura Seaton and takes place this Sunday. I will be wearing this Celuu outfit on the day, but as I needed to get shots for this post, I had to organise an impromptu coffee date with friends to catch up and test drive the threads!
When I arrived at the coffee shop one of my friends complimented me on the biker jacket and wanted to try it on! I only had on the strappy vest underneath but it was warm in there so I stripped off, discretely as there was a table of pro rugby players sat next to us! She tried it on (and looked lovely in it too!) and volunteered to take it off my hands if ever I get bored of it! I had to say “Sorry but no chance!” I love a good biker jacket and this one is wool – which I don’t currently have, so it is staying with me! We chatted and had a laugh – then as it was time to do the afternoon school run, I slipped the jacket back on and a woman came up to catch me. She said she’d been admiring my jacket all afternoon and where did I get it?! I love things like that! I was happy to pass on Celuu’s name and tell her she could buy online, so she made a note and left me beaming with the happiness that comes from an unexpected compliment!
The jacket certainly is something of a show stopper but I also love the vest and treggings. They are both good, solid basics to build a look upon, they are excellent quality and the treggings are thick enough to have some ‘hold you in’ properties! The vest is a nice long length so it is flattering and I felt adequately covered. When teamed with the biker jacket, the look would take me from the blogging conference daytime session, easily into an evening out afterwards!
